A great set in Lincoln last night. My review + photos will be online soon at www.metal-discovery.com
It's a shame only a handful of people turned up, but I don't recall seeing a single poster around Lincoln advertising the gig. To be honest, that's general of the music scene in Lincoln. For example, on Friday just gone, a local promoter booked a band to play in a venue above a small pub (250 capacity) for a 'secret gig'. Rumours had been circulating for a couple of weeks that it was The Cure, Kaiser Chiefs or even f*cking Girls Aloud. Do ya know who it was? Saxon. I didn't go, but heard that around 1000 people queued to try and get in, but obviously only 250 actually did. Now I'm guessing that based on the rumours as to who was supposed to be playing, very few Saxon, or indeed metal, fans actually saw the gig. I mean there were probably Girls f*cking Aloud fans watching Saxon. Trust me, the Lincoln music scene really is f*cked up. :roll: |

Glad u enjoyed the show Mark!
Yeah Lincoln on a Sunday nite, hitting the stage at 10.30 was never going to be our busiest gig but we had fun all the same & appreciated the people that did make an effort to come see us!!
The owner nearly shat himself when we soundchecked & asked us to turn down...we didn't have anything mic-d up!! :twisted:

Yeah the owner did seem a little scared by the power of metal but ay well was a very relaxing gig i might add.
